How to Get In Shape Without an Exercise Climber

If you don’t have climber exercise equipment, there are still plenty of ways to get in shape. If you don’t have any equipment, we’ll show you a few exercises to get fit using just your body weight. If you have limited equipment (like a jump rope or dumbbells), we’ll have a few exercises below that you can do to get lean. And, if you have a full-body climber machine, we’ll discuss using that to get in shape as well.

How to Get In Shape With No Equipment

If you don’t have any exercise equipment, not to worry. There are plenty of exercises you can do using your own body and weight. Some of the more common equipment-free workout routines involve jumping jacks, squats, burpees, pushups, and sit-ups. According to VeryWellFit.com1, you should first choose whether you want to do cardio, weight training, or a mixture of both. From there, you can design your own workout, such as this example:

  • 1 minute march or jog in place to warm up
  • 10 pushups
  • 10 sit-ups
  • 20 squats
  • 10 walking lunges
  • Plank until exhaustion
Start with one or two repetitions of this entire exercise, and as you build endurance, continue doing the whole workout until exhaustion. You’ll be amazed at what great shape you can get into without an exercise climber and using only your body weight.

How to Get In Shape With Limited Equipment

If you have limited exercise equipment, like a jump rope or dumbbells, there are all sorts of great things you can do to get in shape. Even if you don’t have dumbbells, items like soup cans or paint buckets can be used in place of weights, just be sure to find the right weight and not overdo it! Again, both cardio and weights can be improved through simple home workouts such as this exercise regimen below:

  • 5 minutes jumping rope at moderate speed to warm up
  • 2 sets of 15 repetitions each of overhead press with weights, bringing the weights over your head and hold fully extended for a moment, then back down
  • 2 sets of 1 minute each jumping rope
  • 2 sets of 15 repetitions of hammer curls with weights, curling the weights up to your shoulders and back down again
  • 2 sets of 1 minute each jumping rope
  • 2 sets of 15 repetitions of dumbbell squats, squatting to a 90-degree angle with the weights, then using your heels to slowly come back up again
This is just one example of a regimen you can use with limited exercise, but the possibilities are endless. The biggest thing is finding a workout you enjoy and that works with your schedule.
